Not calibrating the compass can lead to data inaccuracies and unsafe flight. You’re required to calibrate your compass in the following cases:

  • Before your first flight outdoors;
  • If the location you are flying is far from the last location you flew;
  • The Drone Status Indicator shows fast purple flashing, indicating compass failure; or
  • The Drone drifts severely, for example, it cannot fly straight.

How to calibrate the compass

The steps are:

  • Extend the drone’s arms. Turn on the drone. Connect to the drone’s Wi-Fi. Enter LILY CAMERA NEXT-GEN DRONE app “Settings” - “Compass Calibration”, and tap on “Start”.

  • Keep the drone horizontal (the Drone Status Indicator will turn solid green if it’s set to the required angle). Slowly rotate it 2-3 times. During this rotation, make sure the indicator stays solid green, which means calibration goes well. If not, you will need to adjust the drone’s angle again. The app will automatically go to the next step once it’s done.

  • Keep the drone head downwards vertically (the Drone Status Indicator will turn solid white if it’s set to the required angle). Slowly rotate it 2-3 times. During this rotation, make sure the indicator stays solid white, which means calibration goes well. If not, you will need to adjust the drone’s angle again.

  • The app will notify you once the calibration is completed
